Know Your District: Science Policy Forum
December 2018 - Representative Mary Dye (R) and Senator Mark Schoesler (R) from Washington's 9th Legislative District discussed the intersection between scientific evidence and policy making, covering topics such as climate change, land-use, and university funding.
Rep. Mary Dye and Sen. Mark Schoesler also fielded questions from WSU students and faculty in attendance.

Candidate Forum on Public Health
October 2018 - Dr. Lisa Brown (D), running to represent Washington's 5th Congressional District, and Jessa Lewis (D), running to represent Washington's 6th Legislative District, discussed science, policy, and the opioid epidemic in Eastern Washington.

Election Issues Student Debate
October 2018 - Two undergraduate students and one of our graduate student members discussed issues for the upcoming 2018 midterm election in front of a student audience. Some of the issues discussed included: carbon fee bill I-163, transgender rights, and recreational cannabis.

"Branching Out" Workshop
March 2018 - Undergraduate students, graduate students, and community members gathered to discuss how our local community can contribute to fighting climate change. Some of the topics discussed included recycling and supporting bee populations.
